American Traditional Style
American Traditional Style, Built with Mill-Direct Timber
The American Traditional Style — Such a timeless look featuring a basic roof line with dormers, and a classic covered porch entrance. Whether you are building a cozy weekend getaway or a forever log home, the durability and charm are undeniable with the traditional style. Exterior Log Walls, Post & Beams, Tongue & Groove, and Siding are all typically included.
Style Inspiration
Pair your American Traditional design with the warmth of wood. We typically mill logs as E. White Pine, W. Red Cedar, Douglas Fir, or S. Yellow Pine, depending on your preference and budget.
Construction Techniques
Many American Traditional designs use post-and-beam or partial timber-frame structures for wide spans and vaulted ceilings. We’ll mill the beams and rafters to your specs once your engineer finalizes spans.
Interior & Exterior Finishes
Inside
There are many choices for the walls, ceiling, and floors inside your log home. The interior walls are normal framed walls, and can accept T&G, Shiplap, Siding, or Drywall. The roof can be conventional or timber framed. For conventional ceilings, you may choose T&G or drywall. For timber frame ceilings, you will have T&G on the ceiling behind the rafters.

outside
The log wall system is the main exterior wood exposed to the outdoor elements. The gable ends are typically framed, which allows many options of wood accents available. Ranging from log siding to match the logs, to board & batten, to cedar shakes, to poplar bark siding to name a few.
